Pirate King – Pesky but pretty panels (PK1)

Last weekend was a bit strange, I came down with a nasty flu which wasted some of my long weekend, but I spend Tuesday and Wednesday sewing and had lots of fun. I’d cut out the panels for the Pirate King quilt a few months ago but got stuck trying to fit them together because the panel wasn’t square. Anyway I’ve overcome that now and got the whole centre panel of the quilt top together which I’m very happy with…oh and I also finished off a QFO quilt as well. Strangely productive. The back of these quilts is nearly as intersting as the front so here’s some pictures of both.

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.
