UFBO3 – Sashings How-to Demo

Sashings, or the strips used to join blocks or rows of blocks together seem to baffle a lot of people. I suspect it is one of those things that once you see it done it makes sense, and until then it seems like you just get tied up in knots.

One of my fellow classmates was struggling with this technique a couple of months ago so I put together a slideshow to well, show how it works, so I thought I would share it here too.

Give it a try and add some comments to let me know how it goes.

Bert

PS: The quilt that I used to demonstrate here is Purposefully Pink (PP) which you’ll find more posts about here.

Cheers,

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.
