WF8 – Hooray WF Made It

After an extra long weekend, extended sewing hours and a dash to the post office on Monday morning the amazing has happened – I have designed, made and submitted my first competition quilt in under 2 months. Not only is that an achievement for me but I am really pleased with the result.

The competition that I’ve entered is called “How Does Your Garden Grow” and is for under 35s and entries will be exhibited in Newington (Sydney) on the weekend of 21-23 Sept.  More details are available from the NSW Quilters Guild site. I might even get there so let me know if you will be there so I can say hello.

The slideshow gives you some hints on what the quilt looks like finished…more details soon…as the exhibition date draws near. 😛

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.
