G2D2 – Quilting 1 Done

After my sewing marathon last weekend I took it easy this weekend.

Yesterday, I went to the local quilt gathering for a stitch and chat session, only taking with me some appliqué pieces to finish cutting out and positioning on the back fabric (will post a photo next time I’m working on it). This was some leftover pieces that didn’t make the cut to get into the WILD Flowers quilt that were fun and I couldn’t leave to sit too long. Anyway, it was lovely to catch up on the news over a cuppa, see what everyone is making and not worry about how much I got done.

20120916-202239.jpgToday I was up early so managed to get the main quilting for gone to the dogs done. It’s now sitting on the spare bed with a toy dog and looking very square (which may be a bit hard to see in the photo). While i am enjoying making this easy, fun quilt it’ll be great to get this one finished… I promised a special person he’d have it this winter and well, winter’s nearly gone. Better late than never 😛

Happy stitching,

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.
