Garden of Quilts in Sydney

Huge gardening spree last weekend – working bee at Mum’s place to make over the garden and then took Mum to the ‘How Does Your Garden Grow’ show/competition which was on in Sydney. Click on the picture/link for some pics, a walk around the garden as it were (it works best viewed as a slideshow). More of the story to come.

Short version is I didn’t win, but thought the ones that won were the deserving recipients and there was some interesting techniques as well as quilts from a whole class of 5 year olds. Now that is starting young!

Have a great week.

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.
