GG8 – visiting hexagons

20130524-211931.jpgCheck out these gorgeous hexagon flowers, they look like a pad of lotus flowers to me…while I would love to say they are mine they are not. I caught up with my lovely hexagon friend J for brekky this week. It was so nice to sit and chat for a couple of hours and then roll in to work a little later.

By the way, Js project is a labour of hexagon love – a queen size quilt of 3/4″ wide hexagons I think, or put another way thousands of beautiful, dainty hexagons. Makes mine look like finger painting 😋

Hope y’all had a good week too.

Bert

PS: I haven’t given up blogging or sewing, my PhD scholarship and job applications are just consuming my attention. IOU soooo many posts but I haven’t forgotten.

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.
