Quilters escape to the Blue Mountains

20131115-082450.jpgPicture this, 20 quilters,a minibus with a trailer a gorgeous spring day and instructions to only pack a small bag. No this not meant to be a joke about people in a Mini. Today I am off on a quilting adventure with the Yass Quick Quilters. Though I did wonder if the small bag instruction was to leave room for the product of some serious shopping, for extra passengers or what.

It’s a lovely morning, there’s lots of chatting, some sewing, some cross words, and prizes already. Great start for a relaxing weekend. More photos and stories to come.

Happy stitching

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.
