Looking for a way to do good for others with your sewing or UFOs (Un-Finished Objects)? Here’s some options in Australia:
- QFO (Quilting For Others) – Canberra Quilters take quilts, quilting fabrics, thread, partially finished projects, you name it and the quilters turn them into quilts for people in need in the A.C.T and surrounding areas. Details here: http://www.canberraquilters.org.au/activities.html#qfo
- Royal Flying Doctor Service (Australia) – needs quilts from cot to single-bed size for patients receiving emergency care (yes quilts do travel in aircraft!). Make your quilt and send it to your local RFDS office. Postal details here: http://www.flyingdoctor.org.au/Contact-Us/General-Enquiries/
- Wrapped with Love – Blankets get distributed around the world to people in need. Knit some squares or send a whole blanket – details here: http://www.artsandcraftsnsw.com.au/WrapNews.htm
Do you know of other good places to share your creations??
Email me some links and details and I’ll update the list here so we can share the goodness – bertcollections@gmail.com
You’ll also find pictures and stories of my QFO adventures in my blog entries starting with ‘QFO’ (or you can find them in the QFO category on the blog home page).
