PP2 – Feather Panels!

20130214-183451.jpg Well, I have to admit that today I am pleasantly surprised. I finished removing the stencils from my feather quilting test piece (yes with sewing tweezers in the tricky bits) and…it’s not bad for my second small scale attempt.

You know what this means? The whole-cloth-serious-practice-piece will be a happening thing. Watch this space…

PS: the guesses about the mystery quilt on yesterday’s post are close but not there yet. Keep trying.

About bertcollections

I began quilting, with the help of some friends, in 2005, and have been quilting ever since. In that time, I’ve completed several projects in a variety of styles and colour combinations. My approach to quilting generally doesn’t involve using a particular pattern. I tend to have a concept I want to bring to life, or find a fabric on sale somewhere that looks like it could be turned into something fun. As the photos in the 'Introductions' post show, my quilts cross a range of styles, but generally use some strong colours and shapes.

  1. Hi, that looks great. You must be feeling extremely proud of yourself! What kind of stencil did you use? I look forward to seeing your whole cloth attempt, that’s fantastically ambitious!-Suzy

    • Hi Suzy,

I made my own stencils from a book pattern, my computer and tissue paper. I will write a post with more details in the next week or so when I have made sense of my scribbled notes 😊
